Martini with a twist
- 2 vodka
- 1 gin
- lemon twist
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Add lemon twist.
Blue Moon
- 2½ gin
- ¾ creme de violette
- ¾ lemon juice
- ½ optional sweetener (cranberry juice, triple sec, etc.)
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass
I prefer the sweetener, though it's then not a traditional Blue Moon
Cosmopolitan
- 2 fruit flavored vodka
- 1 cranberry juice (I use sugar-free)
- 1 triple sec
- ¾ lime juice (juice of ¾ lime)
- ¼ simple syrup
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass
Knave Martini
Rich espresso martini from Knave Lounge at Le Parker Meridien in NYC
- 2 vanilla vodka
- 1 shot espresso (1-1½ oz)
- ¾ Kahlua
- ¾ Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur)
- 1 Coole Swan (premium Irish Creme)
Shake and strain into a martini glass. Serve chilled with three espresso beans.
Sidecar
Classic
- 2 Cognac
- 1 Cointreau
- ¾ fresh lemon juice
- lemon or orange twist
Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour into sugar-rimmed martini glass. Add lemon peel or orange peel for garnish.
Lemon Drop
- 2 lemon vodka
- 1 lemon juice (juice of one lemon); retain ½ rind
- 1 simple syrup
- ½ Cointreau
- splash of limoncello
Combine ingredients including rind. Muddle. Add ice and shake. Serve with lemon twist in a sugar-rimmed martini glass.
Lilikoi Lemon Drop
Passionfruit flavored martini
- 2 lemon vodka
- ½ lemon juice (juice of ½ lemon)
- ½ triple sec
- ½ fresh lilikoi juice (also known as passionfruit)
- ½ simple syrup
Shake all ingredients. Strain out the lilikoi seeds as you pour into a martini glass.
Mai Tai
Trader Vic's original recipe
- 1½ light rum
- 1½ dark rum
- ¾ triple sec
- 1 lime juice (juice of one lime)
- ¾ orgeat (almond) syrup
- either a dash of grenadine or a maraschino cherry
Shake all ingredients except dark rum and grenadine with ice. Pour into a glass with a large ice cube. Gently add remaining ingredients.
Randy's Mai Tai
Tropical version of a mai tai
- 1 light rum
- 1 Malibu rum (coconut-flavored rum)
- 1 pineapple-coconut juice
- 1¼ orange juice
- 1¼ Trader Vic's mai tai mix
- floater of Disarrono amaretto
- pineapple spear
Shake all ingredients except Disarrono with ice. Pour into glass over ice. Carefully add Disarrono.
Moscow mule
Spiked ginber beer
- 2½ vodka
- 6 ginger beer
- ½ lime juice
Add ice into a copper mug. Pour all ingredients over the ice. Stir.
Sazerac
Russ Galli's New Orleans classic
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 1 cube sugar
- 2 dashes St. George absinthe
- lemon twist
Coat inside of ice-cold glass with absinthe, discard any residual. Add sugar cube and bitters. Muddle sugar cube. Add whiskey and ice, stir 50 times. Top with lemon twist.
Desert Sunset
Peach martini from the Westward Look resort (Tucson)
- 2 vodka
- 1½ peach schnapps
- 1¼ pineapple juice
- ¾ orange juice
- ¾ cranberry juice
- splash of grenadine
Shake and strain into a large (8oz) chilled martini glass. Add grenadine and let it sink to the bottom of the glass.
Manhattan
- 2 rye whiskey (or bourbon, a sweeter substitute)
- 1 sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes of aromatic (or orange) bitters
- Maraschino cherry or splash of cherry syrup
Stir (don't shake) with ice. Garnish with cherry.
[Use equal parts of sweet and dry vermouth for a Perfect Manhattan.]
Long Island iced tea
- ¾ light rum
- ¾ vodka
- ¾ gin
- ¾ tequila
- ¾ triple sec
- 1 sweet & sour mix (or lime juice)
- 2 cola
Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled glass and stir. Garnish as desired.

Margarita
Mazz's version
- 2 tequila
- 1 fresh lime juice (juice of one lime)
- ½ agave syrup
- ¼ orange juice
- ¼ Grand Marnier
Shake all ingredients and serve over ice. Add extra OJ for softer, sweeter margarita.
Blueberry martini
...or Raspberry martini
- 6 oz (volume) blueberries, muddled
- 2 oz vodka
- ½ oz creme de cassis
- ½ Cointreau
- ½ oz cranberry juice
- splash of lemon juice
Combine ingredients including blueberry mash. Add ice and shake. Pour through cocktail strainer into chilled martini glass. [Replace blueberries with raspberries for a Raspberry Martini.]

Margarita
Tres Agaves recipe
- 2 tequila
- 1 fresh lime juice (juice of one lime)
- ½ agave syrup
- ½ water
Mix the water and the syrup. Then shake all incredients and serve over ice. Add floater of Grand Marnier if desired.
Velvet Underground
Mango martini
- 3 vodka
- 2 mango juice
- 1 lemon juice
- 1 honey
Shake over ice and pour either into chilled martini glass or over ice.
Anjou Pear Cocktail
Elderflower and pear martini from Legal Sea Foods, Boston
- 1 pear flavored vodka
- 1 St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- 1 Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac
- ½ lemon juice (juice of ½ lemon)
- ½ simple syrup
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass
Fabletini Cocktail
Martini from Fable Kitchen in Vancouver, Canada
- 2 basil-infused vodka
- ¾ St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- ¾ lemon juice (juice of ¾ lemon)
- ¾ simple syrup
- 3 dashes rhubard bitters
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass
Mojito
- 3 light rum
- 1½ fresh lime juice (juice of one lime)
- ¾ simple syrup
- 6 mint sprigs
- 1½ club soda
Muddle the lime juice, syrup and mint in a cocktail shaker. Add rum. Stir and pour into ice-filled glass. Add club soda. Garnish with extra mint leaves and lime wheel.
Old Fashioned
- 2 rye whiskey (or bourbon, a sweeter substitute)
- sugar cube (or 1 teaspoon loose sugar)
- 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Teaspoon of club soda (or water)
- Orange slice and/or maraschino cherry
Put sugar cube into glass, add bitters and club soda. Muddle the sugar. Swish the glass so the mixture lines its sides. Add a large ice cube, and pour the whiskey over the ice. Add garnish.
Elderflower martini
- 1 vodka
- 1 gin
- 1 St. Germaine elderflower liqueur
- ½ lemon or lime juice
- ½ simple syrup (optional)
Shake all ingredients with ice. Serve in a chilled martini glass.
